As a form of gratitude towards Dexa Group’s 55-year journey and to demonstrate dedication to the health sector, Dexa Group, through Dharma Dexa, organized a cataract surgery social service for the community in Kupang. This social service was conducted in collaboration with RSUP dr. Ben Mboi on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.
Residents showed enthusiasm from early morning as they gathered for the cataract surgery. They traveled outside Kupang, including Rote Ndau Island, Sumba, and Alor Island. Out of 165 registered residents, 30 successfully passed the screening process.
According to the cataract surgery doctor, Dr. Arllete, Sp.M, most patients did not pass the screening due to age requirements, high blood sugar levels, and high blood pressure.
The ceremony titled “Cataract Surgery Social Service: Seeing More Clearly” at RSUP dr. Ben Mboi was attended by Dexa Group Corporate Affairs Director Mr. Tarcisius Tanto Randy, Dexa Medica Sales Director Mr. Marimin, RSUP dr. Ben Mboi President Director Dr. Annas Ahmad, Sp.B., FICS, and the Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Health Office, represented by Ms. Yuliana.
In his speech, Mr. Tarcisius stated that this event was a gesture of gratitude for Dexa Group’s 55-year journey. “We hope that this cataract surgery event can be Dexa Group’s contribution to improving the community’s health, especially in Kupang. We aspire to conduct free cataract surgeries in East Nusa Tenggara and other cities across Indonesia,” said Mr. Tarcisius.
Meanwhile, Dr. Annas Ahmad greatly appreciated and thanks to Dexa Group for initiating this free cataract surgery social program. “We highly appreciate and thank Dexa Group for initiating this program,” he said.
Previously, Dharma Dexa, in collaboration with RSUP dr. Ben Mboi Kupang conducted free cataract surgeries on March 8, 2024.
