In alignment with the governmental health transformation initiative, PT Dexa Medica, through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Dharma Dexa, invites people to partake in a chronic disease screening initiative named “Cek Segitiga.” This campaign underscores the importance of health screenings.
“PT Dexa Medica is spearheading the ‘Cek Segitiga’ initiative, facilitating tests for hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes across six cities to offer free health examinations to more than 2,000 individuals. This initiative coincides with the 55th commemoration of Dexa Medica,” said PT Dexa Medica’s President Director, Mr. V Hery Sutanto, during the event conducted on July 21, 2024, at Plaza Tenggara, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.
Mr. Hery continued that this sequence of events would entail collaborations with various partners, including hospitals, pharmacies, and clinics. Specifically, for the Jakarta iteration of the Cek Segitiga initiative, Dexa Medica has forged a partnership with RS Abdi Waluyo, utilized the GoApotik application, engaged with dkonsul telemedicine, and collaborated with Stimuno Forte for a pound fit exercise session.
Mr. Hery affirmed this endeavor as a testament to Dexa Medica’s endorsement of the government’s strategy to prioritize health-promotive and preventive measures. “This activity also represents our commitment to encouraging the public towards a healthier lifestyle, in tandem with the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s promotive-preventive health agenda. Dexa is set to collaborate with more than 1,000 pharmacies and clinics in this educational and health screening crusade,” Mr. Hery added.
Participants at this event were granted the opportunity to undergo complimentary health assessments, procure consultations from RS Abdi Waluyo’s doctors, receive pharmaceutical guidance, and engage in interactive sports activities.
The ‘Cek Segitiga’ scheme aims to deliver chronic disease screening and free consultations to the public, encapsulating three principal examinations: blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. These are administered in a tripartite framework: initial health screening, physician consultation for expert advice, and education on the sustainability of health.
The Dexa Group Corporate Affairs Director, Mr. Tarcisius Tanto Randy, emphasized that this initiative resonates with the corporation’s core values. “By facilitating health checks for visitors at GBK, we are actualizing our core value of ‘Deal with Care,’ emphasizing our compassion towards others,” stated Mr. Tarcisius.
This health screening endeavor aspires to mitigate the prevalence of non-communicable diseases and elevate public consciousness about health maintenance. “Our ultimate aim is to alleviate the financial strain attributed to non-communicable diseases,” Mr. Tarcisius remarked.
BPJS Kesehatan data reveals that the economic burden of non-communicable diseases escalated to IDR 24.1 trillion in 2022, a substantial increase from IDR 17.9 trillion in 2021. Moreover, World Bank statistics indicate that Indonesia’s total out-of-pocket health expenses are 34.76%, significantly surpassing WHO’s advised cap of 20%.
The Health Screening and Lifestyle Modification Necessity
Health screenings have unveiled a considerable prevalence of high cholesterol among participants. RS Abdi Waluyo’s Dr. Armand Achmadsyah disclosed that elevated cholesterol levels are not confined to the elderly demographic. “Our findings reveal that high cholesterol is not exclusively an issue for older individuals; we have diagnosed a 24-year-old with the condition,” Dr. Armand noted.
Initially, Dr. Armand advocated for modifications in lifestyle to curb cholesterol levels. Should these adjustments fail to yield results, medical intervention becomes imperative. “Health screenings serve a pivotal role by identifying at-risk individuals and those in good health. It is imperative to conduct these screenings regularly,” Dr. Armand emphasized.
At the event, the Stimuno brand, an Indonesia Indigenous Modern Medicines (OMAI) phytopharmaceutical derived from Phyllanthus niruri, promoted a healthy lifestyle through a contemporary pound fit exercise session.
A participant, Mr. Budi from South Tangerang, expressed his eagerness to participate in the free health screening while exercising at GBK that morning. Mr. Budi highlighted that his experience was not limited to receiving a health evaluation but also included acquiring information about generic medicines available in Indonesia. “The high quality of these medicines, coupled with the reassurance of halal certification, is particularly gratifying for me as a Muslim,” Mr. Budi commented.
In the post-screening, Mr. Budi and other participants benefited from complimentary consultations with doctors and health education sessions. The screening participants were also provided shopping vouchers on the GoApotik app, a reputable and comprehensive online pharmacy aggregator in Indonesia.
