Winning the award for eight consecutive times, Dexa Group demonstrates long-term consistency in building public trust. This commitment has once again led Dexa Group to receive the Indonesia Public Relations Awards (IPRA) 2026 with the title of Best Public Relations 2026 in Public Trust Building through Ethical Pharmaceutical Practices.
This award affirms Dexa Group’s consistency in safeguarding its corporate reputation through strategic, ethical, and sustainable communication practices, aligned with the company’s values and the increasingly complex dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry.
The award was presented directly by Warta Ekonomi CEO, M. Ihsan, accompanied by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Public Relations Companies Association (APPRI), Mrs. Sari Soegondo, to the Head of Corporate Communications Dexa Group, Mr. Sonny Himawan, and witnessed by the Director General of Public Communication and Media of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Mrs. Fifi Aleyda Yahya, in the Senayan area, Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/1/2026).
Mr. M. Ihsan explained that the assessment process was conducted thoroughly through media monitoring of 216 companies, with research covering 60 leading media outlets. He added that the award recipients recorded negative media sentiment below 10 percent. This reflects the success of consistent and measurable reputation management.
Corporate Communications Role in Safeguarding Public Trust in the Era of AI
Amid digital disruption and the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the role of public relations (PR) has become increasingly crucial. Mrs. Sari Soegondo emphasized that information flows now move at an extraordinary speed, even within minutes, requiring organizations to be more adaptive and responsive.
“We live in an era when information no longer moves—it accelerates. Within seconds, a message can reach millions of people. Within hours, a reputation built over years can vanish,” she said.
Mrs. Sari highlighted that challenges such as misinformation, disinformation, opinion polarization, and reputation crises can emerge without warning and have a direct impact on public trust. Therefore, PR is no longer merely a messenger, but serves as the front line in safeguarding an organization’s credibility and integrity.
“The public does not only assess what an organization communicates, but also how it communicates, how consistent its messages are, and whether its actions align with its communications. Trust is the most valuable asset, built through consistency and commitment, yet it can be tarnished in an instant and is not easily restored,” she continued.
Echoing this view, Mrs. Fifi Aleyda Yahya highlighted the role of technology in today’s communication landscape. According to her, although AI is developing rapidly and capable of generating content, technology cannot create genuine trust.
Mrs. Fifi added that public relations work is often “silent” because it is carried out behind the scenes, yet it plays a critical role in safeguarding reputation, nurturing trust, and calming situations amid an increasingly noisy public space. “Public communication is a bridge of trust between the state and society,” she concluded.
For Dexa Group, this award is not merely an external recognition, but a reflection of the collective efforts of all Dexans in safeguarding the company’s reputation.
According to the Head of Corporate Communications of Dexa Group, Mr. Sonny Himawan, amid the rising risks of hoaxes and disinformation—which, based on Komdigi data, increased significantly throughout 2025—the role of public relations has become increasingly strategic in ensuring accurate, responsible, and goal-aligned communication.
“This achievement strengthens Dexa Group’s commitment to continuously prioritize strategic communication as the foundation of public trust and as an integral part of the company’s sustainability strategy. Trust is not built through campaigns alone, but through sound decisions, honest communication, and ethical practices carried out consistently every day,” Mr. Sonny explained.
